Usually presented as the replacement for the D90, this new Nikon camera marks a new qualitative leap in offering services that were once hard to find at this level range. No surprises in the presentation, the D7000 is very similar to other cases of the brand, rather compact for this level of quality but quite heavy.
The thing is explained by the use of a magnesium chassis, and research shows robustness with seals. Naturally, there are elements who sign an expert model like the two wheels and control the top screen. One can even use more or less optical ones. Technically, there is a high-resolution sensor and low noise but also the adoption of a sophisticated autofocus system to 39 zones. Something to exploit the burst to six frames per second for shooting moving objects.
More surprising perhaps, we discover two SD card slots for the backup or a differential use. Naturally, Full-HD video is on the agenda and Nikon has updated its contrast detection autofocus which is now faster and runs continuously. As befits a model that intends to offer more than the consumer models, the D7000 offers an impressive amount of more or less sophisticated settings to adapt the device to its needs and habits. It also allows use of advanced techniques as it provides 14-bit RAW and various modes of compression if you wish. Although it is simple to use, this reflex is clearly intended for technically competent users. In practice, the D7000 is an appealing job with impressive response and a swift autofocus. The trigger is surprisingly smooth to facilitate shooting at slow speeds.
The results are really good with well-exposed images and detailed. As for high sensitivity, everything goes remarkably well as it can go up to ISO 12800 with a still very acceptable quality. Model that could hold the high number of packages to professionals recently, the Nikon D7000 is a very nice device promising both robustness and performance. No doubt he will envy!
